ActionScript 3 on Flash CS4?
So i'm pretty new to the world of Actionscript...
....all i need is a something simple that will let me create a button, clicking of this button leads to the start of an animation in the Flash timeline, say for instance an animation in 'Layer 1'.
I've found small tutorials on actionscript that show how to link a button to a hyperlink, but i'm not sure how to adapt this to do what i've described above
....any help??

Preloaders in Flash 8 ??
ive built a preloader for an interactive animation in flash 8. i want the movie to start playing after about 180 frames have downloaded, so the rest can continue to download while the viewer starts watching it.
ive tried a few tutorials i found online, but so far have had no success.
is there an easy way to do this?

Flash Programs?
So I'm finally ready to get a flash program for animation purposes. I finally have time to read the tutorials and dick around with that.
What do you guys recommend for flash now a days? I remember back in the day I was messing with FLASH MX at my school, but like is their another program besides that, that the tutorials are easier? What's your guys take on this?

When I add sound on Adobe Flash, the track keeps playing even when I’ve paused the animation?!?
Hello, I'm getting Adobe Flash CS3 soon, and the other day I decided to try the 30 day trial version of it so I could start learning it before it came. I've tried to add sound (or a song, rather) to the timeline to expiriment with that, but every time I add it, it won't stop playing! How do I control when to start and stop the music (with the enter button)? I've tried so many tutorials but it always has the same problem. Please help!

How to create continuous sparks in flash?
I have been searching the net for tutorials, examples, etc to no avail. I have to create a welding animation in flash, and all I have left is to figure out how to create sparks in flash. So far the tutorials I've found make sparks when clicking a button, but I need CONTINUOUS sparks that would be attached to a torch. Anyone have thoughts how I can start to figure this out? I think I could figure out how to do it with a little brainstorming from someone else. So pretty much if you tested the movie, the sparks would animate from an exact x and y location on the stage, and it would stay in the same place for an unlimited amount of time.
